A Quick Guide to Vanuatu: Part Six P-R

From picnic spots to restaurants, here’s the next part of our ongoing A-Z guide to life in Vanuatu. Don’t forget to check it out before your next holiday at our Port Vila accommodation!

Picnic Spots

Vanuatu has no shortage of great places for a picnic. Mele Cascades Waterfall, located just a stone’s throw from our accommodation Vanuatu is one of the most popular local spots. You can sit at the base of the falls and enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool after your meal. Eton Beach is a similarly great spot with opportunities for great swimming, snorkelling and fishing. There are also several cafes and restaurants in the local area that will prepare a gourmet picnic for you, including Café Deli or Au Peche Mignon.

Quoin Hill

An American army base in World War 2, this is the largest hill in North Efate and is still home to several war relics tucked within the jungle, as well as an interesting museum, managed by a local who remembers plenty of tales from the war. He will guide you to two fighter plane wrecks, one of which is submerged in shallow water and can be explored by snorkel during your stay at our Port Vila accommodation!

The country’s dining scene is quickly becoming world class with Vanuatu boasting a great selection of international cuisine served up by its many lively and sophisticated restaurants. The beef and seafood is particularly excellent, as you will discover at the highly acclaimed Officer’s Club Restaurant at our holiday resort Vanuatu!
