If you’re planning a trip to Vanuatu, be sure to visit the National Museum which is part of the Vanuatu Cultural Centre. Learn about the cultural history of the numerous cultural groups in Vanuatu. Step back in time and learn about how Vanuatu was back then. You can also enjoy cultural performances and events that will both appeal to lovers of history and art.

The permanent displays of the museum contain a large section of traditional artifacts such as slit gongs, mats, and scale models of outrigger canoes, fossils, pottery, and more. There’s also series of changing temporary exhibitions such as daily screenings of video documentaries. You don’t have to worry about getting lost. Experienced staff and tour guides are on-hand to give you in-depth explanations and group tours of the museum’s collection. You may also enjoy performances in traditional ‘kastom’ skills such as sand-drawing, dance, bamboo, flute and story-telling.

You may also buy souvenirs at the musuem shop. There you’ll find postcards, books, handmade products, posters, ceramics, paintings and many others.

Vanuatu Cultural Centre and National Museum are located in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
