Exploring Vanuatu’s Islands Part Two

Vanuatu has much more to offer than Efate’s beautiful beaches and the bustle of Port Vila. The neighbouring islands close to our Port Vila resort have plenty to excite, delight and inspire you too. If you want to find out more, take a look at our brief guides below.

Banks and Torres Island

These are Vanuatu's northernmost islands. Since they are closer to the equator, Banks and Torres experience the highest level of humidity of all the islands, with rainfall averaging at 3,900 mm per year. Like the rest of Vanuatu, the islands are volcanic, and there are white sandy beaches, coconut groves and pockets of lush forest to explore. Guests at our holiday resort Vanuatu will find that the traditional culture is still very much alive and largely unchanged by the modern world.

Ambryn Island

Long associated with sorcery and black magic, Ambryn is also home to some of the most beautiful wood carvings in the whole of the South Pacific. Guests at our Port Vila resort will find some good snorkelling opportunities on the North coast of the island, while the stunning Marum and Benbow volcanoes are easily accessible. Wildlife spotters should keep an eye out for turtles, dugongs and array of colourful tropical fish in the clear and calm waters that surround the island. The island is just an hour’s flight from Port Vila, making it a great day trip for visitors to our accommodation Port Vila Vanuatu.
