Staying Safe and Well in Vanuatu

Vanuatu is an extremely safe place to visit. But as with all holiday destinations, there are a few hazards to bare in mind if you’re visiting for the first time and want to keep yourself safe and well during your stay at our Port Vila resort.

Keeping Mosquitoes and Other Biting Bugs At Bay

Most of the time, insect bites are not really a serious concern here. However, since the mosquitoes in the country can carry malaria and occasionally dengue fever – both of which are harmful to small children, it’s important to take due precautions during your holiday at our accommodation Vanuatu. We strongly recommend you apply a good quality repellent everyday on any exposed area of skin, just to be on the safe side.

Protect Your Feet In The Water

Everyone who visits our Port Vila resort spends a good deal of time immersing themselves in the lush tropical water that surrounds the islands. There’s no better way to cool off! But be advised that there can sometimes be dangers lurking beneath the surface in the form of coral, spiky sea urchins and other sharp and hazardous things you won’t be able to spot. With this in mind, it’s best to wear reef shoes whenever you’re in the water. Don’t worry - you can pick these up cheaply at many shops close to our accommodation Port Vila Vanuatu.

Bottled Water Is Best

Tap water here on the main islands is generally safe to drink, but if you’re travelling with young children or have a particularly sensitive stomach, we suggest buying bottled water from shops and ordering bottled water with your meals out.
