Vanuatu Dos and Don’ts Part One

If you’re planning a trip to our accommodation Vanuatu for the first time, great, you’re going to love it. With gorgeous white beaches, lush rainforest and a celebrated laid back island culture, Vanuatu has something to offer everyone. However, if it’s your first time in the country, it helps to do a little forward planning to ensure you get the most out of your stay. These quick ‘dos and don’ts’ area great place to start!

Don’t: Leave A Tip

Tipping is not a custom in Vanuatu. In fact, the best way to thank someone for good service is simply a polite smile and ‘thank you.’ Leaving a few coins or telling someone to “keep the change” is not part of the culture here – just something to bear in mind when you visit our Port Vila accommodation.

Do: Pay a Visit To Mele Cascades Waterfall

Since these gorgeous waterfalls are just a stone’s throw from our accommodation Vanuatu, it would be a shame to miss them during your trip. You can hike through lush rainforest to the falls and then, if you’re feeling adventurous, abseil down for a cooling swim in the natural pool at the bottom.

Don’t: Forget Your Sunscreen

Although the skies here are sometimes overcast, the sun here is always strong and protecting your skin with an SPF of at least 30 is essential if you’re going to be out and about for long periods. When things get a little too hot for you, you can always cool down with a refreshing dip in the inviting pool at our holiday resort Vanuatu.
